Terms of Use

Short, because most of what governs an App Store app is Apple's standard licence, not ours.

Last updated: September 2026

The licence

Vaultic is licensed, not sold, to you. The licence is Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement, which Vaultic uses unmodified. Downloading the app from the App Store means you accept it.

These Terms sit alongside that licence and cover the things specific to Vaultic. Where the two conflict, Apple's licence governs the app itself.

Using the app

You agree to use Vaultic lawfully. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Use it to store or distribute material that is illegal where you are.
  • Use the Private Browser to access material that is illegal where you are.
  • Attempt to interfere with the app's security mechanisms in order to reach another person's vault.

Vaultic is a tool for keeping your own files private on your own device. What you put in it is your responsibility.

What we cannot do for you

We cannot recover your vault, reset your PIN or decrypt your files. There is no account, no server and no copy of your data on our side, and the encryption is built so that only your PIN — or the optional 24-word recovery phrase — can unwrap the key.

  • Ten consecutive incorrect PIN entries permanently delete the master key. This is deliberate and cannot be undone by us or by you.
  • If you forget your PIN and never set up a recovery phrase, the vault cannot be opened again by anyone.
  • If you lose the passphrase for an encrypted backup or export, that archive cannot be opened again by anyone.

Keep your recovery phrase and backup passphrase somewhere safe and separate from the device.

Purchases and subscriptions

Vaultic is free to download. Vaultic Pro is a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the App Store and on the paywall inside the app.

All purchases are processed by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. We cannot cancel, change or refund a subscription — Apple handles all of it.

Restoring an encrypted backup remains free forever, including after a subscription lapses or is cancelled.

Warranty and liability

Vaultic is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data. Vaultic verifies every import by hash and runs a weekly background integrity check, but no app is a substitute for a backup you control.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Third parties and this website

Vaultic uses Apple's App Store and RevenueCat for purchases, and — in the free version — Google Mobile Ads with Google's consent platform. Websites you open in the Private Browser are third parties too. Each is governed by its own terms and privacy policy. See our Privacy Policy for what each one receives.

This website is informational. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or embedded media — see This website in the Privacy Policy for what the host receives. Apple, the Apple logo, iPhone, iPad, Face ID and Touch ID are trademarks of Apple Inc. Vaultic is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc. or Google LLC.

Changes and contact

These Terms may be updated when the app changes. The current version is always the one at this URL, with the date shown above. Continuing to use Vaultic after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
